Daily Te Reo Māori Slack App
Kia ora e te whānau!
At Not Another™, we've been on a kaupapa to help spread and enhance the use of Aotearoa's beautiful language, te reo Māori. Using our design and technical skills, alongside our creativity, we set ourselves the challenge to deliver daily words and phrases in Slack channels, for free, to anyone who downloads our app. The result is the world's very first indigenous language app on Slack. The free app is being used by thousands of people around the world every day and it's a project we're very proud of.
We built the Daily Te Reo Māori app to make learning Aotearoa’s native language easy, fun, and part of your daily routine. Every morning at 9am, Slack users across the world receive a Māori word or phrase in their channels, ready to weave into their kōrero and boost office convos with a bit of Te Reo magic.
Why did we do it? Simple. There’s a growing passion for learning Te Reo Māori, and we wanted to create something that helps foster that while also making it accessible to millions of people globally. We believe language is a gateway to culture, and we saw Slack as a perfect platform to encourage cultural engagement in everyday spaces, like workplaces and teams.
Built with aroha, this app is about more than just words—it’s about building connections, fostering understanding, and making language learning a fun, interactive part of life. And it’s free for over 40 million Slack users globally, helping share Te Reo Māori far beyond Aotearoa.
